Beloved art-punk band from D.C. reunite for their first show in nearly 20 years.

Last night, DC post-hardcore/art punk vets Black Eyes reunited for their first shows in nearly 20 years, playing a sold out show in NYC at Market Hotel.

Black Eyes—featuring singers Hugh McElroy and Daniel Martin-McCormick, drummers Mike Kanin and Dan Caldas, and bassist-turned-saxophonist Jacob Long—disbanded back in 2004 just two months before releasing their second and final album, Cough. To celebrate the upcoming shows, Dischord Records is reissuing their s/t album Black Eyes on vinyl for the first time.

Long known for their wild live shows and frenetic energy, Black Eyes played to a sold-out crowd inside Market Hotel with the adjacent subway rolling by. Opening support came from NYC’s Trophy Hunt and DC’s Blacks Myths.
