Prince Rama as Rage Peace: "So Destroyed"
As the apocalypse bore down inexorably upon us, the oblivious citizens of the world were dancing to bands like Rage Peace, a nihilistic protest band who crafted bubbly, synth-pop chants whose catchy melodies belied the violent messages in their lyrics.
Unfortunately, Rage Peace and the other bands featured on Prince Rama's upcoming compilation Top 10 Hits Of the End Of the World were destroyed in the end of days, so Prince Rama has thoughtfully channelled all of them with the help of Animal Collective's Scott Colburn behind the mixing board and Haunted Graffiti's Tim Koh. It's a pretty awesome concept, exploring pop's relationship with deeper themes like alternate dimensions, spiritual memories, and other extensions of Taraka Larson's Now Age philosophy. Top 10 Hits Of the End Of the World is available November 6th through Insound. They are having a single release party at the Body Actualized Center tonight.
