On the heels of their recent collaboration with new age composer Laraaji comes Blues Control's upcoming album, Valley Tangents. The first track to drop from their fourth full-length is "Iron Pigs", a war march gone prog that shows off the duo's wild imagination and affection for the musical roads less traveled. The amount of ground they cover in just one track is stunning. On paper, you really wouldn't think that a song with cheesy brass synth blasts, bursts of chaotic 20th-century classical piano, and smooth jam band guitarwork could co-exist, but Blues Control have an understanding of music that breaks down genre barriers and unifies every element under one groove.
Valley Tangents drops on June 19th, but is available for pre-order now from Drag City. Read on for North American tourdates.
