We like that The Golden Filter‘s "Quiet Town" sounds like Chicago House; we like that it sounds like the hold music for the Rekall Corporation; we like that the vocal is drenched with reverb; we like that said vocal is a disco diva’s internal fatigue made aural, breathless and sultry-- as if a shadow dance music culture had sprung from Rhythm and Blues when Soul solidified the splinter. We like the reconfiguration, the modular, the reference, the reassembly.
