Gold and Soil: "Cody's Song" Video

Gold and Soil is the latest project from Cali-based electro-classicists Ana Caravelle and Ryan York. "Cody's Song" melds the talents each artist honed in their respective solo works Basic Climb and the Zipperlegs EP: acoustic instruments modernized by clever sampler-based arrangements. In the accompanying music video, director/editor Miko Revereza-- the wizard behind old favorites like the video for Run DMT's "Dreaming" or n e s t's "smoke signals"-- fuses his older style (super-saturated retro coloring, gauzy geometry, that squiggly thing that makes cameos in a lot of his work) with his newer penchant for hazed black-and-white and sharp, simple angles. You can stream the living-dream-state flashcards of his sequence for "Cody's Song" above.

Gold and Soil's self-titled LP is out now on Non Projects.
