From 1995 to 2001, alternative artists and noise rock demi-gods like Lightning Bolt and Mindflayer lived, worked, and played at the space known as Fort Thunder. Originally located on the second-floor warehouse of an abandoned textile factory, the Providence, RI home quickly became known as a a DIY venue and an open haven for art. Recently the photo archive of Fort Thunder became live again after years of being lost to time and suburban sprawl. The space was later destroyed to make way for a Staple's parking lot.
