Eric Lanham: "AM/ER JOS"

Eric Lanham:

Eric Lanham, the Kentucky-based synthesist otherwise known as Carl Calm and one half of Caboladies, dropped his first solo vinyl, The Sincere Interruption, under his own name today on Spectrum Spools. The warped, modular tone patterns of "AM/ER JOS" make it one of the busiest and particularly unpredictable tracks on Interruption, but it's beautiful outbursts exemplify some of the best qualities of this improvised collection. Asymmetrical rhythms and strange, micro-tonal melodies reveal themselves to those adventurous enough to trace the wide paths of its wildly panned blips n' clicks. Lanham's artistic, human touch is prevalent throughout, begging a participating set of ears to freely re-interpret a style that's often mis-diagnosed as raw arithmetic.

The Sincere Interruption is out now on Spectrum Spools and available at Experimedia.
