Deep Time have a knack for building complex structures with simple tools. In "Clouds," sections like the Feelies-gone-baroque breakdown when vocalist Jennifer Moore sings "can't you see you had it made?" make the Austin-based duo sound like an army. In the track's new music video, director Hannah Lew achieves the same effect with a silhouetted live performance and Rothko-sized panels of pure color, evolving the timbre from earth toned grounding to airborne blue streaks as sneakily as her subjects' clever songcraft.
